Use [PetLevel and target a controlled, nonsummoned pet that belongs to you. Pets begin at level 1 and cap at level 30. Advancing from level L requires 250 + 75 × L² additional XP.
| Pet level | Total XP | Nominal PvM damage bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 0.00% |
| 5 | 3,250 | 1.38% |
| 10 | 23,625 | 3.10% |
| 15 | 79,625 | 4.83% |
| 20 | 190,000 | 6.55% |
| 25 | 373,500 | 8.28% |
| 30 | 648,875 | 10.00% |
Earn experience together#
The pet must contribute positive damage to an eligible recorded encounter. At completion, both pet and owner must be alive, on the target’s map and within 24 tiles. The pet must still be controlled and nonsummoned, and the owner must meet its companion-clearance requirements and have a recorded encounter contribution.
Difficulty must be meaningful for the owner. Pet XP is the encounter XP budget multiplied by the pet’s credited damage divided by the encounter’s recorded maximum health, rounded down. Summons do not earn these permanent-pet levels.
What the bonus changes#
With progression enabled, a qualifying controlled pet gains up to 10% extra damage against eligible monster targets. The formula adds damage × (level − 1) × 10 ÷ 2,900, using integer arithmetic. Small hits can round the bonus down to zero.
This training bonus does not apply to damage against players. Pet levels do not increase the owner’s follower-slot budget or waive companion progression gates.
