Instruments and bard control
From UO:PvE Wiki
Musicianship supports three distinct ways to control eligible creatures.

Choose an instrument#
Peacemaking, Discordance and Provocation ask for an instrument and test Musicianship as part of the attempt. Target difficulty and instrument properties affect the check; high skill does not bypass creature immunity or harmful-action restrictions.
Three disciplines#
| Skill | Practical effect |
|---|---|
| Peacemaking | Target a creature to pacify it; targeting yourself invokes an area-peace action. |
| Discordance | Apply an ongoing weakening effect to an eligible creature. |
| Provocation | Choose two suitable creatures and attempt to make them fight each other. |
Position and progression#
Provocation checks that the chosen creatures remain within bard range of each other. Discordance also monitors continued validity and distance; it should not be treated as a permanent debuff.
Bard School reputation and commissions specifically recognise successful targeted bard work on eligible wild creatures. Area Peacemaking is not the same reputation objective.
