Enter a trance#
Use Meditation when you are missing mana. It reveals you. An active targeting cursor prevents focusing; armour with a positive meditation penalty also blocks the attempt.
Spellbooks, runebooks and Spell Channeling weapons or shields are acceptable in the hands. In the current AOS branch, incompatible held equipment is moved to the backpack before the attempt.
Success and preparation#
The active success chance is (50 +2×(Meditation−missing mana))/100 before the random roll. A larger mana deficit makes starting a trance harder. Success also performs a Meditation skill check.
The usual reuse delay is 10 seconds. Equipment that removes the armour penalty can matter more than the visible defensive rating; verify the individual item’s properties. Meditation does not restore your reagents or remove spell-school conflicts.
