Mounts and stabling

Mounting#

Double-click your mount within 1 tile. It must be yours, alive and not poisoned. You cannot mount while already mounted or in a secure trade; some body forms and regions also refuse riding.

Tamable wildlife must first be tamed and owned. A mount’s rider restrictions and temporary mount blocks still apply. Ethereal ticket-shop mounts follow their own acquisition rules.

Stable a pet#

Say stable to an animal trainer or use its context menu. Stabling costs 30 gold from backpack or bank. The pet must be controlled by you, alive, nonhuman and not summoned.

Unload pack llamas, pack horses and beetles. A pet fighting a nearby opponent cannot be stabled. Say claim to retrieve pets; each retrieval must fit your available follower slots.

Stable capacity#

Add effective Animal Taming, Animal Lore and Veterinary. The base capacity follows this table. Each of those three skills at 100.0 or above adds floor((skill−90)/10) more slots.

Before adventuring#

Stabling is a deliberate service, not a promise that any missing or distant pet will be recovered. Trainer placement and your current stabled list are live world state and were not inspected.
