Life, mana and stamina leech

From UO:PvE Wiki

Weapon hit properties roll a chance to recover a fraction of actual damage; life leech has custom shared limits.

Weapon leech rolls#

After a normal weapon hit deals positive damage, each leech property is rolled independently against a random integer 0–99. A property value is a proc chance, not the amount recovered on every hit.

Successful propertyRecovery fraction
Hit Life Leech30% of damage
Hit Stamina Leech100% of damage
Hit Mana Leech40% of damage

Life-leech budget#

Curse Weapon adds its stored life-leech percentage, normally 50 scaled by the casting Necromancy school strength. The combined extra life-leech request is then capped at 35% against monsters or 20% in ownership-aware player combat. Vampiric Embrace’s own scaled 20% leech uses part of that same life budget.

Without Vampiric Embrace, a successful life-leech proc recovers 30% against monsters or at most 20% against players. With an unweakened Vampiric Embrace, extra weapon life leech is limited to 15% against monsters and 0% in player combat. Integer rounding can make the combined recovered amount slightly less than the nominal percentage.

Weapon leech uses min(damage dealt, target health before the hit), so overkill does not inflate recovery. Stamina and mana weapon leech have their own fractions and are not subject to the life-leech budget.

Wraith Form mana drain#

Wraith Form uses a different formula: leech percent =5+floor(15×Spirit Speak÷100), then scaled by Necromancy school strength. This is 20% at 100 Spirit Speak and 23% at 120 before the conflict penalty. It removes mana from the defender and gives it to the wraith, limited by the defender’s remaining mana. Weapon Hit Mana Leech creates recovery from damage and does not use that same target-mana limit.
