Resmelting equipment

From UO:PvE Wiki

Which crafted metal items can return ingots, how much is returned and the Mining thresholds.

Eligibility and returned materials#

Resmelting requires a metal resource with a valid resource definition and an exact matching recipe in the craft system. The recipe’s first ingredient must require at least two units. Ethically imbued equipment is rejected. The target path handles armour, weapons and dragon barding deeds, and uses the craft system’s normal tool and station checks.

Player-constructed armour or weapons, and dragon barding deeds, return half the first recipe resource amount, rounded down. Other eligible items return one ingot. A successful resmelt deletes the original item and puts the recovered material in your backpack. The returned resource type comes from the item’s material definition.

Mining requirements#

This is an effective Mining-skill threshold check, not a random success roll. Expanded custom metals use the RequiredSkill in their ExpandedCraftResources definition. Materials without one of the listed or expanded thresholds fall back to zero.
