Insure an item#
Use your character’s insurance context-menu interaction. Only equipped items or items in your backpack can be toggled. The source price is 600 gold per newly paid insurance item, withdrawn through the banker. Insurance is enabled in current feature flags.
Ordinary containers, stacks, cursed items, mounts and several special containers are excluded. Blessed, newbied or personally blessed items are also excluded because they already use another protection rule. Quivers are the container exception.
What happens on death#
An insured item is retained in the backpack for that death. With auto-renew enabled, the source attempts to pay for its next insurance period. Without renewal, or without sufficient funds, insurance is cleared after protecting it for the current death.
Renewal is normally 600 gold. When the death has an eligible player insurance-reward context, that renewal cost is halved. Do not assume every death or every item is insured automatically.
Review both the insured marker and auto-renew preference. Having money does not insure an item you never selected.
